Therapy for Children, Teens, Women & Couples

At Becoming Therapy, I help children ages 5 and up through play therapy, as well as young adults, women, and couples.

I help children who may be struggling to express what they feel, cope with difficult experiences, or find their sense of confidence and belonging.

I help women navigate trauma, depression, grief, C-PTSD, ADHD, self-esteem, relationships, identity, family conflict, family estrangement, infertility, racism, the Hispanic diaspora, and cultural acculturation.

I also help couples who are working through disconnection, conflict, communication difficulties, infidelity, and patterns that keep repeating.

I am passionate about helping people who carry experiences of trauma, grief, depression, shame, or low self-worth, along with those navigating cultural identity and belonging wounds. I help people who may feel stuck and are not quite sure how to begin.

On the deepest level, I help those who are asking how to understand what happened to them, make peace with who they have been, and become who they want to be.

That is at the heart of Becoming Therapy: helping people move from simply surviving their story to having a more empowered relationship with it.

Support for women navigating trauma, depression, grief, C-PTSD, ADHD, self-esteem, relationships, identity, family conflict and estrangement, infertility, racism, cultural experiences, and belonging.

What Therapy Can Help You Discover

I support clients through life's challenges by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can slow down, feel understood, and make sense of what they're experiencing. My approach is to understand what people are feeling and where those feelings may come from.

Therapy can open the door to many kinds of growth and healing. It isn't about becoming a different person, but becoming more fully yourself.

Through therapy, you can experience:

  • Emotional Healing: Processing trauma and experiences that may still affect the present.

  • Greater Self-Understanding: Recognizing patterns, needs, beliefs, and emotions with more compassion.

  • Self-Worth & Confidence: Learning to see yourself beyond shame, criticism, or past experiences.

  • Healthier Relationships: Developing boundaries, communication, trust, and deeper connection.

  • Resilience: Learning how to navigate life's challenges without losing yourself in the process.

  • Freedom From Old Patterns: Understanding what once helped you survive and discovering new ways of responding.

  • Identity & Belonging: Exploring who you are, where you come from, and where you feel you belong.

  • Hope & Possibility: Imagining a future that feels meaningful rather than simply getting through the present.

  • A Stronger Sense of Self: Becoming more grounded, authentic, and connected to your own voice.

Therapy can help you move from surviving to understanding, from understanding to healing, and from healing toward becoming.

A Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Approach to Therapy

My overall approach to helping my clients is relational, compassionate, trauma-informed, person-centered, culturally responsive, and collaborative.

At the heart of it, I believe healing begins when people feel safe enough to be fully seen and understood. I meet my clients where they are, creating safety and trust while seeing the whole person. I honor each person's pace, recognizing that healing is not linear.

I use different therapeutic approaches based on what each individual may need, including evidence-based approaches such as trauma-focused work, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gottman-informed work, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Through these approaches, I help clients understand themselves and reconnect with their voice and power, especially when trauma, shame, family dynamics, or cultural experiences have caused them to lose touch with those parts of themselves.

Finally, I create room for possibility by helping clients recognize that their past may have shaped them, but it does not have to determine who they become. I am passionate about walking alongside people and creating that space for becoming.

Therapy That Sees the Whole Person

What makes Becoming Therapy unique is that my practice is rooted in the belief that therapy is not about fixing people. I bring lived experience into the therapeutic relationship while seeing the whole person, and because of this, I see the relationship itself as part of the healing.

Trust, warmth, authenticity, and feeling genuinely seen aren't extras at Becoming Therapy. They are foundational to my work.

I believe there is more than one path to healing and in creating a space for people who may have felt unseen or misunderstood.

Ultimately, I believe in people's capacity to grow and not be defined by what happened to them, but instead to discover what is still possible.

The name Becoming is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more fully yourself.

You don't have to have it all figured out. The important thing is simply being willing to begin.
